Wade Whitney – Board Member – President
I grew up in Columbia, MD. My older brother exposed me to soccer at six years old. At the time it was all about free unrestricted play in the open spaces of our neighborhood. I thoroughly enjoyed an activity that allowed me to physically express myself. Soccer quickly became something I excelled in. I have played soccer at all levels, including, travel team, state and youth national, all the way to D1 and professional. I’m a graduate of NC State University with degrees in Communications and German. Currently, I teach all the transferable skills in soccer in a grassroots environment. I focus on instructing the player in front of me regardless of their ability. As director of recreation programs for Ellicott City Soccer Club, I work hands-on with the players of the Get On The Bus Maryland Chapter. My passion is to continue introducing organized soccer to underserved communities that have been priced out of the pay-to-play youth soccer model.
